If, like me, you’re the owner of a PS3, you’ve probably realized by now its potential for games and video, and also the fact that there is not a single great game on the market yet! Well, except for MotorSport (I’m totally hooked), but where’s the online mode?? Anyway, let’s say we’ll have games on the PS3 at some point, or maybe we’ll have a console emulator (for NEC PC Engine, Super Famicon, Neo Geo, etc.), even a nice DivX player… You’ll also realize that 60GB is good, but hardly enough after a while… Kurouto Shikou is coming to the rescue with their PS3-eSATA, a SATA and eSATA slot for PS3 that allows you to plug any kind of hard disk, and even install the OS of the PS3 on them. You can even unplug the hard disk from your PS3 and plug it on a PC to backup your data, Great!

As you know, Vista is now available. If you’re not Vista Powered by now, you should probably wait until the SP1 comes out… as certain aspects of this OS are still unpleasant, especially the security part. You’ll end up dislocating your index after clicking every nano second or so, to open a folder or try copying files from one disk to another. Anyway, Vista comes with a nice feature that allows you to transfer data from a PC to another one (XP to Vista, Vista to Vista), namely the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard. But for PC to PC transfers, you need a specific USB cable, so Elecom made one!

Francfranc is the equivalent in Japan to the Habitat stores in Europe. They’re offering quite a few interesting products. Last year, they teamed up with Elecom to sell Elecom products bearing the Francfranc logo in their stores. This year, they’re teaming up again to offer a mouse, a mouse pad, a USB key and an audio headset.

Get prepared to jump in the future. (It took our assistants Chihiro and Maki 20mn to explain this thing, so listen very carefully, I’m not going to describe it more than once.) Frepar Network, a Japanese company, will sell by the end of 2007 some sort of futuristic Tamagoshi, which will be in fact a 3D character capable of replying when you talk to it, and interact with you when you try to touch it, or even blow on it. Yeah right! Things should get a little more complicated as this company will also offer several other gadgets to go with this 3D “tamagoshiâ€, such as an information container, a digital TV tuner, a control screen, an satellite dish, and a communication POD…

CMtech announced today the availability of the K7, their DKP (Digital Karaoke Player) in Japan. With its “chocolate†like look, this small player is rather nice and slim (9.9mm and 45g). It will help you becoming a karaoke pro (karaoke feature + TV out). Speaking of karaoke, I’m wondering where this video of Daimaou and Totoro ended up… The K7 can of course be used as an MP3 player, and it supports videos, photos, and FM radio. It is available with 1, 2 or 4GB.

We made a short video this week in which we opened the box of the Vaio UX91S with 32GB of SSD, 1GB of RAM and Vista. I played for 3 hours with it yesterday, trying to switch it to English. Now my UX is working like a charm. I’ll continue playing with it during the week-end and will write a review with a video, more photos, etc. One more thing… once you’ve removed a bunch of crap off the computer, it works very well! 900g of pure pleasure!

Everybody knows Doreamon, the earless cat robot (mice probably ate his ears while he was sleeping). This has been a manga since, well, forever. It is said even Moses was reading Doreamon! Doreamon has a cool gadget, the Yojigame Pocket (4th dimension pocket), in which he stores just about anything from cars to houses and planes. He also has a helicopter hairband that his friends can use for flying. Epoch has released a video game based on this helicopter hairband! Inspired by the Wii remote controller, the player uses a hairband to control his/her character by moving his/her head in all directions. Even if this game is made for children and has a proprietary connection to the TV, I have to admit the game looks ABSOLUTELY cool, and I would LOVED to have it on the Wii. Well done Epoch!
